You can’t REACH customer service

You can’t REACH customer service. They guard themselves with some poorly designed AI algorithms agent. God forbid you have some questions or issues - you are doomed

Booking.com will ruin your holidays.

I booked accommodation in Wales through Booking.com and paid around £400. When I arrived, the property was not as described and I found a number of serious issues with its condition, including cleanliness problems, damage and concerns about safety. I decided it was not reasonable or safe to stay and left shortly after arrival. I contacted Booking.com immediately, provided photographs as evidence, completed their requested questionnaire and followed their complaints process. Despite this, the matter was not resolved. I was informed that Booking.com was unable to reach an agreement with the accommodation provider, but I was not given a clear explanation as to why my evidence was not considered sufficient. After several contacts with customer service, the outcome offered was only a small partial amount in comparison with the cost of the booking. I feel that customers need stronger protection when accommodation does not match the description or is unsuitable on arrival. I expected Booking.com to properly investigate and support a customer who had genuine concerns and evidence. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling that the process favoured the accommodation provider rather than the customer.

Systemic Support Failures & Automated…

UPDATE (05/08/2026): Shortly after posting this review, Booking.com’s support team (Ranny) responded directly, officially admitting in writing that their 6-day silence was "far too long" and "unacceptable." However, despite formally confessing to severe communication breakdowns and system failure, management explicitly refused to offer any goodwill compensation for the wasted time, 40-minute phone runarounds, or bouncing email loops. They ignored a formal 2-hour window to resolve this privately, proving that their customer care offers empty apologies without taking true accountability. Potential customers beware: even when Booking.com admits they failed you, they will not compensate you for the disruption. Systemic Support Failures & Automated Loop Runarounds (Ref: 5904274980) Star Rating: 1 Star The accommodation issue (£31.40 refund) was resolved directly with the property, but Booking.com’s own customer service infrastructure is completely broken and unaccountable. 6-Day Unanswered Query: My initial service query was completely ignored for six days. 40-Minute Call Runaround: Phone agents passed me around in circles without taking ownership. Broken Email Loops: Replying to customer service requests triggers automatic bounces from cs-noreply "address not found" dead-ends. Accountability Evasion: Agents repeatedly hide behind "mediator" status to dodge responsibility for their own administrative failures and wasted customer time. I provided Booking.com management with a formal 24-hour window to escalate this internally and address these service failures. Having conveniently ignored that notice, I am publishing this documented timeline to warn other travelers about what happens when you need actual support from Booking.com.

Being sued by a group of over 10,000 hotels for miscondut.

After treating me despicably following my complaint about an apartment that we booked I am delighted today to read that a group of over ,10,000 hotels are about to sue them for millions of Euros for misconduct. That's great news Avoid Booking.com like the plague !

Booking.com cancelled my booking

I had made a booking almost 2 months ago to stay at a b&b. 2 weeks before I was due to go away, Booking.com cancelled my booking and said that the b&b had over booked and needed to cancel my booking. I contacted the b&b who knew nothing about it and was appalled by the way booking.com had handled my booking. To add insult to injury, booking.com honoured 2 individual bookings at the b&b that were made after my booking. They were just for 1 night whereas my booking was for 3 nights. To make matters even worse, myself and my partner have operations coming up which means now we will not be able to go away now until next year.

Sat at Evissa airport for over 1 hour to be told it hadn’t been booked when I asked why he disconnected the call. A one off I can get but when it happens 3 times you know they are taking the piss. I won’t give these clowns another pound coin…..avoid unless you want stranded!

Infuriating

Booking.com were extremely frustrating to deal with when our accommodation was found to be dirty and the bedding was covered in human and pet hair. We contacted them immediately, but were repeatedly passed between automated systems and agents, told the issue had been escalated (when it hadn't), and even told we would receive a refund. Instead, we were given a £20 account credit and left to cover the cost of alternative accommodation ourselves. You can see from all the other reviews as well, Booking.com cannot be trusted, and will make it far more stressful for you if things go wrong.

Do not trust booking.com

Do not trust booking.com. Booking.com does not ensure the terms and conditions in booking confirmation page is not violated by the host. They collude with hosts in violating terms of check in & priceing / charging. Host after deducting full amount in advance demands the guest to collect thd key from their city office in a different location not known to the guest. When this violation is reported to booking.com, they support the host, guest was harrassed and asked fof the refund. Booking.com can not be trusted as they just want money & sweep the violations under the carpet. This happened with my booking with booking.com for a Milan property, where check in procedures given in booking confirmation page was violated & host demanded to collect key from their city office much away from the property. Booking.com sided with the host who violated the check in procedure.

How can guests trust booking.com

How can guests trust booking.com? They just want money, they have no email or social media or live agent. They collude with hosts who violate terms and conditions of booking, check in, pricing. Once money is pre deducted from your credit card, they collude with host who violate terms and conditions of booikng, check in and additional charges. No email or complaint box is visible for the guest who pay so high. Most guests lose money , but dont know the procedure to complain to the EU authorities. So, booking.com keep colluding with hosts who violate the terms of booking, check in and over charging. We have stopped booking with booking.com

I booked and paid, but hotel closed and this is only my problem

I booked and paid in advance for accommodation through Booking.com for my family (2 adults and 1 child). When we arrived, the property was closed and not operating. Booking.com had already taken my payment, but we were left in a foreign country with our child and nowhere to stay. Customer support was extremely difficult to reach and did not provide a suitable solution. We were offered accommodation that was either far from the beach or not suitable for our family. This experience caused us significant stress and completely ruined the beginning of our holiday. I expected Booking.com to protect its customers in situations like this, but I was deeply disappointed. I cannot recommend this service based on my experience

Severe Bedbug Infestation & Bodily Harm: Booking.com Refuses Full Refund and Medical Costs (Booking ID: 5471160154)

Since July 29, I have been actively communicating and filing formal complaints with Booking.com regarding our stay at Hôtel Léonard de Vinci II in Paris (Booking Confirmation: 5471160154). During the stay, my mother suffered a horrific bedbug attack resulting in over 100 severe bites all over her body. The attack triggered severe allergic skin inflammation and acute physical trauma, as officially documented in a German medical diagnosis (Arztbrief). We were forced to cancel our remaining itinerary, end our holiday early, and seek emergency treatment at Notfallpraxis Karlsruhe. Despite these severe circumstances, the hotel only refunded a part of the room cost, refusing to cover the emergency clinic and medical expenses totaling 192.86 €. Meanwhile, Booking.com merely offered formal platitudes and an insulting "goodwill gesture" of just 40.50 €, refusing to take further responsibility for our actual losses. Offering 40 Euros for bodily harm, emergency clinic visits, and a canceled vacation is utterly unacceptable. Formal regulatory complaints have already been submitted to the Dutch Consumer Authority (ACM) and the European Consumer Centre (ECC). I demand a 100% full accommodation refund, complete coverage for our medical expenses, and fair, reasonable financial compensation for our canceled itinerary, ruined holiday, and physical and mental pain and suffering.

DO NOT BOOK FLIGHTS WITH BOOKING.COM

I booked a flight with Booking.com and will never do so again. They are extremely neglectful in their responsibility to inform consumers about their booking. When questioned about my specific situation they hid behind a stock response that did not apply. I was forced to pay a huge extra fee at check-in due to Booking.com leaving out vital information needed for my trip. DO NOT BOOK FLIGHTS WITH THEM.

customer service

so there are numerous times we have had to help our guests at our hotel to straighten out their resverations where Booking.Com has issued the wrong dates that you are charged to simply change the date!!!!!!!!!! Also where they send the wrong days !!!!! That you are paying for because they don't care if you're tired or having to deal with a death or anything else !!!!!! You still have to pay!!!!!!!! I hate seeing the elderly being taken advantage of ....waiting over an hour to get it taking care of..... And they are suppose to be working for you!!!!!!!!! Please beware of how they are treating your guests.....

If I could give no stars I would. I am a host and I was scammed so had to change my phone number. Booking. Com refuse to change my telephone number so I can’t reply to guests bookings and give check in details. They have stopped my sync with my other booking provider allowing dates to be double booked. This company is a disgrace. Customer service is none existent and no one can help you. I can’t even stop anyone else booking with me. My advice stay clear of booking.com as a host or guest

Booking.com Scam — Advertised All-Inclusive at Dreams Sapphire Resort, Delivered Hotel & Breakfast Only — $2,148 Nightmare

Booked All-Inclusive at Dreams Sapphire Resort through Booking.com, Got Hotel & Breakfast Only — $2,148 Nightmare I booked an all-inclusive package at Dreams Sapphire Resort & Spa Puerto Morelos through Booking.com and was charged $2,148.12. When we arrived, the property only offered hotel and breakfast — not the all-inclusive package we paid for. We were traveling with two young children. Leaving the facility was not a realistic option — we had no alternative accommodations and could not uproot our kids mid-trip. We were essentially trapped and forced to make the best of a situation that was not what we booked or paid for. When I disputed the charge with my bank, Booking.com fought it and won — using the fact that we stayed at the property against us, despite us having no real choice. I then spent 58 minutes on hold with Booking.com customer service, only to reach agents who did nothing. Booking.com allowed a property to misrepresent its offering and made it impossible to get a refund. Do your research before booking anything "all-inclusive" through this site — what you see is not what you get.
