Definition:ex·tra·nom·i·cal /ˌikˈstranämikəl-/adjectiveextranomical 1. awesome, greater than expected or remarkable value."the extranomical tour was one of the best days of my life!"Synonyms: extraordinary, astronomical, amazingExtranomical Tours, founded in 2002, is a San Francisco sightseeing tour company that specializes in tours for people who generally do not like to take tours. Our clientele is very independent and likes to venture to places where most tour companies don't go to. Due to the small size of our groups, our guests receive a more personalized and exclusive experience from us. Our tours offer a distinct "traveling with friends" feel, so that most people interact with each other and so we are able to visit locations larger vehicles do not. For example, we have a short hike up to the Giant Sequoia grove on our one day Yosemite tour from San Francisco. On our California wine country tours, we visit small family-owned boutique wineries (too small for large buses) that produce such limited quantities you can only buy their wine at their winery! We are fully insured and licensed by the State of California Public Utilities Commission and are regulated and inspected annually by the California Highway Patrol. We are proud members in good standing at the San Francisco Travel Association. All of our drivers are drug tested at the time of hire as well as at random times throughout the year. We make sure that our vehicles are always in excellent mechanical condition by inspecting daily and keeping a rigid maintenance schedule. We train all of our guides one-on-one to make sure that they are knowledgeable, courteous, and most of all, safe. All of our guides are also friendly, informative, and experienced. We test drivers on a periodical basis on their knowledge of the areas we visit. We also maintain a training program and a resource library for guides to stay current on relevant material. We carefully select the locations we explore on our tours to maximize your time and see the best of the best, while always maintaining an adventurous yet easy-going atmosphere. On our tours we have a comfortable amount of time where you are with the group, but we also give you enough time on your own so you can choose from different activities that interest you such as hiking, shopping, museums, or just taking in the beauty. We know you work hard all year long to take a vacation so we make sure to do everything in our power to make your tour a memory that you'll treasure for a lifetime!Happy travels,Extranomical Tours.

We had Dustin as our tour guide, and he was such an amazing guide - he made the day really fun and enjoyable! We visited three incredible wineries, and had a lovely lunch at Sonoma Plaza! We would highly recommend booking onto this tour!

Thank you for sharing your experience! We're so happy to hear that Dustin made your day fun and memorable. It sounds like a perfect combination—great wine, a beautiful lunch spot, and an engaging guide. We truly appreciate the recommendation and hope to welcome you back for another adventure soon!
The tour was nice but they should’ve said that 12 out of the 15 hours of the tour are inside the bus… this is a trip that needs at least a 1-2 nights in the yosemite valley. Regardless, the visit was nice and Albert (the tour guide and driver) was good. The actual visit to yosemite was about 2.5 hours of free time in the lodges and surrounding area and 1.5 hour walk in the giant sequoia forest. They should really make that very clear…

Thanks for your feedback! Travel and park times are noted in the tour description, but we understand wanting more time in Yosemite. We also offer overnight tours for a deeper experience—hope to see you again!

We thought the tour we went on was great! Muir Woods, the wine valley and bridge, although that was really foggy were all great. Dustin, our tour guide was very nice, very informative and very laid back and funny. He was great, I’d recommend him for sure if your taking a tour around the area.

We're especially happy to hear that Dustin made your day even better with his humor, knowledge, and relaxed vibe. We’ll be sure to pass along your kind words. We hope to welcome you on another tour soon!
Yosemite outstanding!!! HOWEVER our group was left waiting an hour over schedule for morning pickup without so much of an apology with concerns for the microphone not working and were advised we would not receive facts and info along the way.
We were the first pickup however our guide was not driving and had an additional female friend with him.
We were further delayed as two passengers were denied entry (they had a valid ticket) and we had to come back 20 minutes later to recollect them
Our guide appeared more interested in interacting with his female friend who tagged along for the tour than providing a guided tour.
The microphone that supposedly caused our delay magically started working
We were rushed through the park due to our unplanned late start and were left waiting in the bus at the sequoias for 30minutes for our driver to finish his smoke outside of the bus with his friend needing to get him on our behalf
Our drive home was preceded by the expectation that the service should be tipped for the tour and advertised his expectation from past tips he had received
Yosemite was an excellent once in a lifetime destination and whilst we paid for a guided tour we ultimately paid for a lift there
From start to finish, Dustin made our wine tour feel like a dream—relaxed, insightful, and filled with laughter. His passion for the region and genuine connection to each stop made all the difference!!

My experience was both amazing and smooth! Our bus driver made everything so much fun and did a good job pointing out cool things and telling us about them! She was also amazing by just continuing to buy water for the bus, wipes and sanitizer! Lastly she was so kind and charged our phone for us too !

Randall was professional and timely. He kept the group on schedule and dropped little gems throughout the Yosemite tour. Only room for improvement is the off/pause button on the headset and taking extra note of the sidewalk edges.
