I've been using NC for a year now

I've been using NC for a year now, for prevention and its worked as intended. I've held off leaving a review until reaching a full year. I would (and have) recommended it to others. Obviously its efficiency is based on the user adding accurate and consistent data. i It took a while to get a good portion of green days vs red but worth the perseverance if you don't want to rely on hormonal birth control. Its been really useful for getting to know more about the menstual cylce and female body in general. Its also good for giving tips based on each phase of the cycle too. I like the little quizzes. In terms of cost, I think NC is worth it. I'm a bit tight with my money, so its not often I'll outright buy a yearly subscription, but the addition of the oral thermometer when joining for a full year, was a selling point for me. Which I'll review in a mo. Firstly, I want to mention that the only reason I'm not giving NC 5 stars is because I felt like the wrist-band marketing was a bit of a disservice to existing NC users: had I known that I could receive it for free when my next yearly subscription renewed, I wouldn't have bought it at the discounted rate (£40) when it was released. So I felt like a bit of a fool for falling for that. I think even the £40 was bit overpriced. That being said, the conveience of the wrist band thermometer is great. So heres the comparison of the wristband vs the oral thermometer: With the wristband, it's nice not needing to wake up within a set time frame everday. Its good that it can save multiple days of data and the battery lasts a decent amount of time. There have been 2 occasions when it's not collected any data during the night, despite the battery being sufficient. In terms of comfort, its okay, but just okay. I get a bit irritated by it and it takes me quite a while to forget that I'm wearing it which isn't great in terms of the sensory experience. But the sacrifice is worth the peace of mind, knowing its more reliable than counting on myself to wake up every morning and remembering to use the oral thermometer. As for the oral thermometer, it was good and definitely an improvement from the older version (which I'd used years earlier). Again, its ability to store multiple days of data is great. The battery seems to last well, Id been using mine for about 9 months before swithcing to the wristband, and its battery seemed to be going strong. It was a little annoying sometimes, if I pressed the wrong button in the morning when half asleep trying to take my temp, it would take about a minute to turn off again, as you can't just turn it off and on again. It worked well, but I did find myself sometimes worrying if I'd taken the temp within the right time frame as I'm someone who partially wakes in the night fairly often. I'd rather err on the side of caution. TLDR: NC is great, I definitely recommend. Worth the yearly sub. Wrist band is good for convenience but not that comfortable.

Been on this app for nearly 3 years running and it has been fantastic. Important to note that you must follow a strict routine of temperature and into inputting however the results on not having to use any hormonal birth control has been a life saver for my health and wellbeing

Not worth it - don’t follow their own policies

Didn’t receive a reminder email as their policy states (it states 30-40 before they take it out for the annual membership to renew) to state when and how much they were going to take out of my account and saying they can’t refund - complete scam. It had gone up to £90 and I wasn't informed. I would understand if I’d been told how much was going to come out of my account and when but that wasn’t the case. Don’t waste your money it’s not worth anywhere near that!

It took a little while for the app to get used to my cycle after pregnancy but it continues to get better and more accurate each month. Love using this app

Switching from the pill to natural cycles

I decided to use natural cycles as I stopped taking contraceptive pills and wanted to prevent pregnancy. It works great! As long as you are disciplined in logging your temperature (or wear your Apple Watch or oura ring), the algorithm tells you your green and red days. For red days, of course, you need to use protection or abstain. Give it a try if you have been thinking about it. If you have the support of your partner, it becomes even easier to transition from the pill to natural cycles. You can share the data with your partner (they need to download the app as well), and you can even control how much data you share.

Accurate and Helpful

This app is incredibly accurate in predicting my cycle, which has helped in planning my life better. I've found knowing when my fertile vs non-fertile days is incredibly helpful. Knowing the phase of my cycle has helped me understand moods or symptoms I may be experiencing and put them in perspective. I appreciate that they are always adding new features as well. This app has had a huge impact on the quality of my life.

Recently been unable to open the app…

Recently been unable to open the app without having to uninstall and reinstall, login and go through notification and access permissions. Otherwise this app is great, it keeps me updated on my fertility status without invasive medical testing or expensive doctor visits.

I’m writing this review to make other customers aware of a very significant price increase from Natural Cycles which happens on an annual basis basis As a long-term user I find the scale of this price change extremely difficult to justify. From a customer perspective, there have been no major new features or noticeable improvements to the app, yet the subscription cost has more than doubled. I completely understand that businesses sometimes need to adjust their pricing. Small, gradual increases are reasonable. However, such a substantial jump with no tangible improvements feels disproportionate and unfair. Many sign up to Natural Cycles as a long-term health and contraception solution. This is not a casual subscription; it is a personal healthcare tool that users rely on continuously. Their increases are not handled in a way that feels reasonable or customer-focused, so be careful when signing up as it will likely double each year. What starts off as £20, went to £40 then to over £80!

Disappointing from a long time customer

I have been using Natural Cycles for 7 years, so a long time customer. I was disappointed to see this year that my annual subscription wasn't just increasing, but going from £39.99 to £89.99. I just can't see how they can justify such a huge jump in price. I have been using Oura with Natural Cycles for the past couple of years and now that Oura's own cycle tracking is much better, I just cannot justify paying for both when Natural Cycles has more than doubled in price.

Get the app! It is the best thing you’ll do for your female health.

The app and integration with the Oura ring is awesome! I wear my Oura every night to bed and use Natural Cycles as non hormonal birth control. The red and Green Days make understanding when it is safe to have unprotected sex with my husband without fear of pregnancy. Thank you so much Natural Cycles for making the BBT/ rhythm method an FDA cleared birth control method!!

The best app for tracking my period and knowing my temperature and fertile days

I love NC. I wish I had done this sooner. I came off hormonal birth control and straight into NC. It was the best choice I made. I love being able to track my cycle and I’ve found out so much about myself. Such as how my cycle affects my skin, mood, motivation and so much more.

I have used natural cycle for several years

I have used natural cycle for several years and am very satisfied.

Cancelled after 5 years due to 100% price increase 2026

I used NC for 5 years and was happy with it. Earlier this year I got the info that my subscription renewal is coming up and the price changed from 65€ to 130€!!! (Also you literally just get 1 email saying your subscription will renew ONE MONTH before it does and then nothing afterwards) I might not be as happy with the other options in the market but I decided to cancel the subscription. I believe their main point is that you can claim your subscription back from your health insurance however that's only possible in the US. European market seems to be unimportant to them I guess.

They signed me up for a full membership after the trial. Conveniently the trial “reminder” did not state that up front and the email looked like spam. Beware after the trial the subscription fee is hefty and there’s no way to get it back. I didn’t even use the trial.
