ON1 moving to local processing

I don't always (and less often in the future) have a fast enough internet connection to utilize sever based processing. As Adobe is moving away from local processing and ON1 has mostly returned to local processing, I'm abandoning Lightroom (user since Version 2) and moving to ON1. Plus limited testing of local (MacBook Pro M2 Max 96gb) vs server based (1Gbs Fibre connection), local is usually at least 5 times faster. Hoping that generative expand will move locally.

Great Customer Service

Have been using On1 Raw for several years but when I went to purchase the 2026.4 upgrade from an email offer it asked me to create an account rather than just sign in. Could not find my link to download although I had an order #. Contacted customer service and they were able correct the issue.

Restore AI does not do good job with…

Restore AI does not do good job with people faces. The faces do look as they should. Everything else in the picture is great. You should look at how Topaz Photo recovers faces.

I have been blessed to work with your program and it is helping so many that I serve. the only issue I have had with it is that it is not always dependable. It will glitch at times and will just not mask as it should.

I very much like the software...BUT...

I very much like the software...BUT...there are some serious caveats. The learning curve is steep. The video instructive courses are good but assume too much knowledge (incredibly frustrating and useless at times). The shadow tools don't work. They just bring down exposure on everything (verging on useless). The generative eraser tool doesn't work at all (I've given up trying). But there is a lot that I do like about the software and I have a sense the developers may make improvements (hopefully that's not just wishful thinking). I wouldn't automatically recommend you buy it. But I would recommend a thorough tryout and then decide for yourself.

Excellent software, lots of tutorials, professional assistance, continuous upgrades, covers all my requirements that I used to do with Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop without monthly charges.

I love OnOne however didn't find the new release to work for me. I wish I could have used it as a trial for a day or two but I didn't see where you could do that. Now I'm sorry I didn't explore that option further. I had emailed about it but didn't get a response. The RestoreAI didn't work for me because it changed the faces too much. It also made the eyes look different colors.

Back In The Saddle Again

Two of my favorite and go-to programs were either on sale or free. Because I am a low-income pensioner, I was forced to live without Effects and Re-size after having to purchase a new computer and discovering that my old program versions were no longer compatible. I loved loved loved these programs. So you can imagine how happy I was to discover the Anniversary Specials. It was easy to purchase from On1. Installation went smoothly. And these programs are a breeze to use. As a result, I am right back to where I left off. Thank you On1.

Used Nikon Capture NX2 for years

Used Nikon Capture NX2 for years. Figuring out most things on my own. Only thing I can't do yet is to blur the background behind the subject, but with a gradient, so that the bottom of the photo (closer to the camera and subject) is sharp.
