The quality of the stills, which is what i was purchasing, is generally very high. This made choosing shots, relevant to what i was looking for, much easier. Purcgasing itself was very easy once the relevant information was logged. Keep doing what you are doing, it's great!

The clip I purchased was impossible to download. I spent HOURS trying. I was told to use Shutter Encoder because it was supposed to be free, but they charged me TWICE for downloading their app, which didn't work. Finally, I found Handbrake and that worked. It was incredibly frustrating.

Pond5 discriminates against people who want to use their music for legal adult content. This type of content is legal, yet it is restricted without a clear justification. As a paying customer, I find this policy unfair and disappointing.

The download links for videos seems to be broken. When I want to download a video, instead of loading the download file it carries me to a page that doesn't seem to exist.

I've been a contributor since 2009 but recently deleted all my footage and deleted my account. Pond5 was the gold standard when it started. Contributors earned 50% of ad sales. Exclusive contributors earned 70%. That all changed in 2025. Pond5 got greedy. They dropped those rates to 30% and 40% for exclusive contributors. It was a significant cut to my profits. So I'm done with Pond5 and will no longer send clients to them for stock footage and no longer have links to their website on my website or social media. I work too hard to only get 40% of sales. Plus they started offering my stuff at a discount wihout my permission. My prices were set manually but they kept selling clips at reduced prices.

Pond5 aims to compensate our contributors fairly for the time and talent invested in producing their work, and we have given careful consideration to our contributors and to the marketplace's sustained growth. Advance notice regarding changes to both our royalty rates and our pricing structure was provided via email, and changes to our contributor portal were announced as well. We understand these changes did not meet your expectations, and we are sorry to see you go.
