What I like progeCAD so far: commands similar to autocad

What I like progeCAD so far: -Very similar software to AutoCAD in comparison to other programs I tried out. BricsCAD is a very close 2nd. The key difference is Bricscad is very difficult to plot, however bricscas doesn't crash as much, or does not crash at all for that matter. bricscad ability to open files from exployer as a seperate running program like autocad is awesome, and a lot more affordable; at roughly $100 a year, it's a major plus. -progecad ability to snap to hatches is biggest plus -perpetual license, not like Autocad&others is key MAJOR DISLIKES - I was under the impression when I bought progeCAD, I would be able to load it on my pc and laptop, and use it interchangeably (not at the same time) without having to uninstall the program and reinstall it every time I use. (fyi, pc is windows 10 and laptop is winddows 11) considering a refund. -It crashes everytime I open the file from windows exployer every morning when I start working. -When I have progeCAD open, I can't open another cad file from windows exployer without bringing the entire file as a block. It's fustrating that I have to open the thru progecad and do a copy and paste with certain blocks from follow up file. -The mail symbol flashing, on bottom right corner is fustrating. I open it to resolve missing attachments, and the list never goes away or update properly. It would be good that when I detach the jpg, pdf , etc; the list would update to reflectthe change. Resolve Action is still required and won't go away until you close the program and open it again. -I wish you could uninstall and attach cad, pdf, images from the image manager, or xref manager, instead of opening the Reference Manager to do so. - Editing any lengthy text, like general notes, is very fustrating. I can't set the indent parameters without making a mess of the text, can't add bullets, etc. -Other various minor items as well. -RRC

I can eassily say that you can not beat the price among other competitors. You should be very proud of this product!!

Well, I am about to launch a project in which I will have a chance to play more with my new toy than I would like to, but by looking at the front page (sort of speak) it would a lot easier to get acquainted with progeCAD for those who are comfortable using AutoCad since 1972, when the whole program was in two floppy disks, not to mention the terrific tutorial available and other nice benefits to the user, can't thank you enough for your development of this great tool!!

Fantastic value for a product that is…

Fantastic value for a product that is familiar to the users of the world standard CAD software, AutoCAD, that verteran CAD drafters and designers like me can appreciate. It has everything necessary to get the job done and done professionally. I especially love not having to pay an obscene amount for a subscription, as AutoCAD and others now require. My only wish is that it was compatible with DWG files newer than 2018. Time marches on.

progeCAD is compatible with DWG through 2026. If you are having trouble opening older drawing try running an RECOVER on them and fix the errors. If that does not work hit us up at https://support.progecad.us and send us the drawing to examine...

Inexpensive Autocad with a different name

I have been using Autocad professionally for many years. Now retired my hobby is design and 3D printing and Progecad (in essence, Autocad with a different name) at a fraction of the cost of Autocad allows me to afford the software I am familiar with. This is a great drafting and 3D design and drawing platform for both mechanical/machine and AEC design and drafting. Kudos Progecad and thank you.

Excellent! Thank you...

I'm a former CAD teacher

I'm a former CAD teacher, taught AutoCAD for years. Retired now, and truthfully, I haven't used progeCAD a lot. I needed a CAD program and didn't want to learn a program again to do quick jobs for myself. This program is such a comfortable transition and so less expensive. So far, it seems powerful enough and I would highly recommend!! I also taught the Inventor program from AutoCad. I have not looked at the 3D component of progeCAD yet.
