We went to the ilford one for the first time and we couldn't fault it at all, the service all the staff members provided was brilliant and so professional, they was so friendly, helpful and so welcoming. There was a massive fresh variety of starters, main and desert. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and will definitely be going there again. Thankyou :)
The Royal Nawaab is a rip off, we went there as a family of 4 including 2 teenagers. The kids basically had spaghetti and chips, we had mainly starters and the full bill came to £156 including drinks which are not part of the price. Do they seriously think we ate £156 worth of food, no chance. Will not go there again due to extortionate prices!
Poor service at the pyramid don’t cater for people with disabilities
I complained about the customer service costs of banqueting was not as per brochure sent by the customer service team despite stating day time event, weekday, event, 2 course main meal + basic stage I was informed by the customer service team 'bog standard' costs £59 per head , I complained on the team group chat before being contacted back by the 'General manager Wahaab Khan' who was polite but clearly forgetful he said no problem we don't want you to complain we want you to have a good experience, for your son to have all he wants , over the phone he said 12,800 and asked me to visit in person I contacted the group chat to make alternative arrangements the next day instead as my son wasn't available , before realising I had Mr Wahaabs number then updated him too, he agreed to our meeting 7pm the next day, we attended, family in tow not welcoming, directed to the bitter cold waiting area, then random staff kept asking us what we were there for, clear lack of communication between staff, after 20mins we were directed into an office, not asked what we wanted not shown the banqueting hall, not told about what we agreed before which was menu A, daytime weekday etc what a waste of time he forgot he said he would throw in an extra canopies so 3 instead of 2, and a basic stage noted as £600 on their current brochure, but he said it was £2500. Instead he proceeded to talk about 'menu B' instead of the conversation we had again told me the same prices of £59 bog standard quote 16k quoted, , he exclaimed he never spoke to me of costs on our call I left. If the general manager can't recall our conversation I worry how they will remember our needs on the waleema what a poor experience
I went to Royal Nawaab Perivale for a wedding after hearing so many good things. Sadly, the only thing living up to the hype was my disappointment. Getting there is an adventure in itself thanks to the A40. Once you arrive, parking is another challenge. You're directed into the basement, even when Tesco's car park next door is empty. Surely some arrangement could be made? The spaces are so narrow that you spend more time worrying about your car than enjoying the evening. Inside, the building is confusing with signs pointing to different events, and the lifts seem to move at their own leisurely pace. The food was the biggest let-down. The Chicken Malai Boti was the only dish worth eating. Everything else was bland, under-seasoned and lacking flavour. Everyone at our table thought the same, and plenty of full plates went back untouched. The so-called Gola Kebabs looked like chopped-up leftover seekh kebabs and the meat had an unpleasant smell. The puris had soaked up oil instead of being light and crisp, while the biryani tasted like plain rice with an overdose of garam masala rather than an actual biryani. Even dessert disappointed. The kheer and halwa somehow weren't sweet enough. To top it all off, the only soft drinks available were full-fat Pepsi and 7UP from the fountain. No diet or zero-sugar options at all. In a time when many people are diabetic or simply avoid sugar, that seems an odd decision. Friends told me the Ilford branch serves excellent food. If that's true, someone from Ilford needs to pay Perivale a visit and show them how it's done. Overall, this was a huge disappointment. Between the traffic, poor parking, confusing layout and disappointing food, I won't be returning or recommending the Perivale branch. If you're attending a wedding there, celebrate the happy couple, but eat before you arrive. Never again.
We visited the Royal Nawaab pyramid and to be honest found most of the dishes bland. We are a bit old school and compare today's Currys to those of the 1980s. I think Indian food has really gone down hill. Alot of the dishes were very samey some quite watery and lacking in flavour. No way is this experience worth the £32 per head we paid. Beautiful building lack lustre food.
Worst experience of food yesterday, the meat wasn’t freshly cooked and there was a strong weird smell in lasagne. Even gol gappay were not nice and fresh, shocked to see quality of the food at such high cost, still feeling sick from yesterday’s dinner!
salad-good selection, note "left-overs" of 1-2 days before, children should be stopped from hand-handling food especially here (please police this area) starters - good, replenished regularly (15-30mins) mains dishes-good choice, but these are neglected areas (not replenished regularly- during my 1.5 hrs stay on 2 occasions, despite asking) bread-dry nan, etc, but chapatis (kept separately in cloth-fresher), need replenishing deserts-good choice, but some are "left-overs" of 2 days (do smell test), needs replenishing regularly, ice-cream (somewhat cheap quality) tables/plates - cleaned regularly (many waiters around) spacious (compared to Newaab stockport) parking - "first come first serve", need to open more spaces
Visited Royal Nawaab last night for my husband’s birthday dinner. The ambience was beautiful and the restaurant looked amazing as always. There was a huge variety of starters and main dishes, which we really liked. Some of the starters were delicious, but others like the chicken broast and kebabs were quite average. The main dishes were a bit disappointing too — dishes like the Namkeen Handi and Paya didn’t taste how they normally should and felt lower in quality compared to previous visits. Desserts also weren’t the same standard as before, especially the gulab jamun which was honestly not good at all. Overall, the variety and atmosphere were great, but the food quality and taste have definitely gone down compared to before. A bit disappointed this time, especially for a special birthday dinner.
Amazing wedding venue, awesome foods with unlimited supply! Each and every guests were highly satisfied in my son’s wedding reception 2 days back! I have not a single point to complain! Mr Waqar was so helpful from day 1, I could never thank him enough! His organisation, friendliness, cooperation, simply awesome! Then I got Mr Irfan, another good soul with high skills of management. Mr Wahab was excellent! On the event night, Aine showed how to make an event hugely successful! She was on top of everything, on the spot, prompt and such a caring and friendly person! I’m very very thankful to you Aine! Recommended highly, it could be your dream wedding event!
Tasteless and overpriced. Also, seems like lots of fake 5* reviews from people who have only left 1 review and who just say "Royal Nawab" Ilford like they're being told to.
We visited Royal Nawaab Ilford for the first and last time last night, on 14th March 2026. Our table number was 58. It all started when we asked one of your waiters if your kulfi contained nuts, as our daughter (under 16) has a severe egg and nut allergy. We were given an allergen booklet, which clearly stated that your kulfi does not contain either egg or nuts. However, when we asked the waiter about it, he responded poorly to our question. When we asked again, he started laughing and called his manager over. The manager first said that our kulfi contained all nuts, but then he left and returned with a handwritten list of nuts, including peanuts, almonds and pistachios. This information contradicted that in the allergen booklet. My daughter was listening to the conversation and started crying. She is very conscious about what she eats. We immediately gave her some Piriton, we all left our desserts and left the restaurant. As a family, we were all very concerned about her health and went straight to our car in case we had to use an EpiPen. Your manager showed zero concern about our situation; however, the Royal Nawaab staff were very quick to come to our table with the PDQ machine for the bill payment. On a less serious note, we found that your waiters kept coming to our table wanting to take away plates with food on them while we were still eating.
Very bad experience this time now start sailing worse food Services zero price is very high and specially parking. I need to highlight for all customer need to report because It’s really very dirty and I never seen around the London like this parking Royal Nawaab is totally failed because management not improving anything specially management need to take action as soon as possible Specially for children No arrangement even car park lift is long time not working for small babies. I think we need to report everyone Because now Royal Nawab sailing worst food in high price and no hygienic system in place. no arrangement for disabled people no arrangement for newborn babies especially in car park lift is not working long time and very dirty car park I never ever seen around the London special request for relative authorities to take action and against this serious matter especially this bad and worse arrangement thank you
My experience at Nawab was absolutely ridiculous. The new management is a joke. I called to ask if I could book a table for four, and they said they don’t accept bookings for that number; it’s walk-in only, and the restaurant opens at 3:00 PM. I explained that I had come from very far away and arrived at 2:00 PM. When I got to the door, the staff member told me I had to wait outside. When the doors finally opened, they let in a group of Asian families who had just arrived five minutes prior, while I had been waiting for an hour. Afterward, I was instructed to scan and book a table, which I did. However, when we tried to sit down, they said it was now fully booked and there were no available spaces. We were only four people, and I had my autistic brother with me, and we had driven for two hours. Then, another group of Asians arrived who had booked a table for ten people. They told the staff that five of their group weren’t coming, and they were given a table. This experience was absolutely ridiculous. I will NEVER go back to Nawab again. The management is poor, and I’ve never encountered such issues there before.
Brilliant staff? Quality food and the best in the business. True value for money! Thank you so much to Zain, Taimoor C15 and C14 table Hamza also amazing service! Thank you thank you thank you, we will keep coming back again and again!
I am extremely disappointed with my recent visit to Royal Nawaab during Ramadan. This was my second visit, and unfortunately it was just as bad as the first. They seem to overbook all the time and clearly cannot manage the number of customers they accept. There were far too many customers and very few staff members. People were standing for a long time just to get food. Imagine going for Iftar and having to queue for absolutely everything — for food, for plates, for spoons, for desserts. It completely ruins the experience. Iftar is supposed to be peaceful and organised, but instead it was stressful and chaotic. Even when ordering drinks, they arrived after we had already finished our meal. What is the point of that? The service was extremely slow and poorly managed. There was no proper staff support, and everything felt disorganised. The noise level was unbearable, especially for families with children. It was overcrowded, loud, and uncomfortable. After two bad experiences, I can honestly say I would not recommend visiting, particularly during Ramadan. They seriously need to improve their booking management, staffing, and overall service.
We booked a table for Valentine’s Day, on Friday evening we called them up to doublecheck our booking time, they did confirmed that the table is booked for 4 pm. We got there and they said they can’t find our booking information and we have to wait for the manager. After 15 minutes, we did got seated. Food was great loads of choices. Mocktails were extremely sweet couldn’t finish it. The deserts was really basic and not much flavour to it. I doubt I would go back again..
