I think Stitch is one of the best social groups that connects people together with events in safe friendly environments with warm friendly people. The varied events cater across many interests that fit everyone’s interests plus you can put up an event also. Travel is also available with in Stitch, and with Stitch in most Countries can join events and meet fellow Stitchers whilst travelling, keeping that social connection. Since I’ve joined Iam trying new activities, expanding knowledge and I enjoy meeting new friends now and enjoying meeting newcomers, enjoying the outing what ever it may be, and feeling that connected feeling which gives me peace of mind.

Since joining stitch about 7-8 months ago. I have found that it is definitely community building. Having experienced a few of the activities that stitch members create I have found some new friends and this has helped to alleviate some of the loneliness that I can feel at times. You do get the joining fee back as there are so many activities to attend. I also created an activity to which was a great success and met some lovely people. There is something for everyone it’s just a matter of joining, plucking up the courage to go along to your first activity. Given time, the rest then falls into place.
You are a legend Jo Ann! Seriously, members like you who end up gaining confidence because of the other members you meet, and then end up suggesting or organizing activities of your own, are great examples of what makes the community great. Met so many like-minded people that wanted to connect with others. Being a widow can be pretty lonely and I did not join Stitch to meet another man, but wanted to make some close friends to do enjoyable things.

While I still have to take full advantage, Stitch offers a huge range of activities to cover all interests. Members are typically at a similar life stage, and so have much in common. Information about activities is readily available and easily tailored to individual preferences. I have felt welcomed to the organisation and to groups and activities within it.

Stitch gives me the opportunity to attend activities with other Stitch members this helps me meet and grow new friendships in a safe environment. Stitch is an inclusive organisation that makes people feel welcome, I can attend local activities or change my preferences to include a much wider area.

Stitch is a great platform for meeting like-minded singles without the pressure often associated with dating sites. You can connect with people who share your interests, get to know them naturally, and see how they interact. If a connection develops, it feels more like the socialising of the 1970s and ’80s—meeting people in real life and letting relationships grow organically. No swiping left or right, and no endless misleading photos.

I joined STITCH fifteen months ago and I have found it to be a positive experience from the start. STITCH is a world-wide organisation. The STITCH concept is all about joining others in the community with the common goal of addressing loneliness and forming lasting friendships. So many aged 50+ people are struggling with isolation, loneliness, depression after losing a partner through sickness or through divorce. STITCH aims to bring people together through their common interests, themed events, travel groups and of course functions. During my time with STITCH I have met some amazing people, and attended many events, have also travelled overseas and have made life-long friends in doing this. Please join STITCH if you are feeling like you need some connection to your local community - it may be the best decision you have ever made in your life!!

I would have to say joining Stitch is the best thing Ive ever done, not only meeting new people but traveling the world with some of them. I would be still sitting in my chair at home and not knowing what to do only for joining Stitch. The hardest part was plucking up the carriage to attend the first activity and introducing myself.
I can't tell you how happy it makes me feel to hear that Lester! You're not alone in finding the first step the hardest, and I'm constantly trying to explain to members that it gets so much easier after that, they just need to take the first step. Stitch is all about creating community and connection and overcoming lonelness through social engagement. You don't need to be retired to join, but it is easy to loose social connection when you leave the workforce and it has been great for me in retirement. There are volunteer organisers coming up with all sorts of interesting things to do that I wouldn't otherwise have known about.

Stitch is a great way to meet new people and enjoy new experiences in a safe social environment. I’ve been a member for two years, made some wonderful friends and had a blast along the way going out to live gigs, dinners, dancing, the movies and more. I even use it when I travel to connect with local Stitchers. Such a brilliant concept!

I think this company runs things incredibly well. I love the concept of meeting local people to participate with in myriads of interesting activities. I have become well acquainted with members in a short span of time and love the freedom to only participate when I am able without feeling left out when we meet again. A very positive addition to my lifestyle.
