I have given up on Amazon due to one (really) bad driver
The delivery guy that is here most of the time is an absolute nightmare. He was dumping packages on doorstep instead of in safe place, yet marking them as left in my safe place. Things have had to be sent back as we were out and came back to soaked items. We are on a main road, and there have been thefts in this area. I have a safe place round the back, but he refuses to use it. I even bought a weatherproof box which was sited behind a gate at the side, out of sight. A lot of this happens when we are in the house, he absolutely refuses to ring the doorbell, only giving a very light knock, that unless we are lurking around the front door, we simply do not hear, and neither do the dogs! He then gives us approx 10 seconds to get to the door - I have watched back on CCTV and timed him. This is a large house, so 10 seconds is not long enough to get to the door, especially if we are in the garden in summer, as my video doorbell often takes a few seconds to send an alert. I have complained several times to Amazon, and they keep promising he will be advised not to dump stuff on doorstep, and to use the doorbell and give us time to get to the door, but nothing has changed EVERY other Amazon driver can rind the bell and wait for us, or put packages in designated safe place, just not this guy. I ended up cancelling all my outstanding orders and my Prime membership, as it is just not worth the hassle any more. I spent a lot of money on Amazon, as this is a faily rural area and a lot of things are just not available anywhere nearby, but have re-ordered from elsewhere.
