Beware of askexpertonline.com
I went on this site about a dishwasher problem. After answering a few questions with an assistant, I was asked to pay NZ$10 and proceed to talk to a technician. My card was declined, so I went through the process again. This time I was asked to pay NZ$2. I thought this seemed suspicious so checked the askexpertonline.com site on Trustpilot. I seemed to be legit, so I entered my credit card details. The page loading was then interrupted by Guardio with a warning about fraud. I checked my account and found there was a NZ$70 payment pending with the "YOUR HOME REPAIR QNA 0800 452 621 US" description. It seems that I have been phished and I have cancelled by credit card... I called my bank to discuss my concerns. While I was on the phone, the company attempted to put through a payment for a further NZ$100. My bank is treating it as fraud and will be in touch with the police.
