Predatory marketing practices
I wanted to lookup some information based on a license plate number. A full report was not required, just some basic info. Goodcar said they could do that for $2.00. Seemed like a good deal. Then my credit card company asked if I really intended to spend $29.95 on Goodcar. No, I had not, I had expected $2.00. I tried to decline that payment but was unsuccessful. A few days ago, another charge for $29.95 appeared, and my card declined the payment. I did not knowingly sign up for any subscription. At this point a asked them to cancel my credit card and issue a new one. I do to care how good their customer service is, or whether or the reports are useful, the predatory marketing earns them 1 start.
