Great experiance! What a country!
We have just returned from a 16-day holiday, organized through China Highlights. We had an exceptional holiday and here is our summary. The tour was planned with the help of Ann Wang, in China Highlight’s main office, and she was very helpful in planning our itinerary. We flew into Beijing and returned from Shanghai. Ann took over all the internal sections of our holiday from the moment we landed, arranging the drivers, booking the hotels, trains and an internal flight. We were accompanied by local guides for what was a private tour for the two of us, with drivers and comfortable vehicles throughout. We had just specified where we wanted to go, and Ann did the rest! The local guides were excellent, spoke good English and would happily adjust the daily itinerary, if we asked. We would like to give our special recommendations to Jacob, Sarah and Mia, who were excellent. We received the itinerary from Ann Wang well before our trip, and this smoothed the application for our Chinese visas. Slotted into the middle of the holiday, we took a three-day river cruise down the Yangtze, and again this was organised by China Highlights and included in the total cost, which we think represented excellent value. It was especially pleasant not to be guided to sales outlets, unless we asked, and we really learnt a lot from the local guides about modern-day China, which was a complete revelation. During our holiday, I unfortunately suffered a muscle strain in my shoulder, and our guide, Mia, immediately arranged a hospital visit for me to see a doctor. My medical details were forwarded by email, as we drove to the local public hospital. I was seen by a doctor and had the Chinese prescription in my hand withing 50 minutes from arrival! Quite a change from our usual A&E! This was an example of the care from all our guides and China Highlights! We would recommend using China Highlights to anyone, just go and see this amazing country for yourselves!
