We had a wonderful experience exploring Shanghai with our guide, Kenny! She was absolutely excellent — extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and flexible, always adapting the itinerary to our interests and making sure we got the most out of our time in the city.
Her knowledge of Chinese history and culture is truly impressive. At the Shanghai Museum, she gave us a fascinating lesson about the ancient Chinese bronze collection, making the visit so much more interesting and meaningful.
One of the most interesting experiences was visiting the famous Marriage Market at People's Park, where parents display personal ads hoping to find suitable partners for their children. It was such a unique and fascinating glimpse into Chinese culture, and Kenny's explanations made the experience even more special.
Kenny also suggested many great places to visit and took us to fantastic local restaurants, where we tried delicious traditional Chinese dishes we had never tasted before.
Thanks to Kenny, we really made the most of our time in Shanghai and discovered so much more than we would have on our own.

Our China Highlights tour guide, Qi, in Shanghai, was absolutely amazing for my husband and I. We enjoyed her services for 3 days. We had finished a 3-week tour of Japan and Seoul and wanted leisurely days in Shanghai. Qi took us to historical areas, the major temple, local restaurants and modern Shanghai. She was very attuned to our needs. She listened to us and, accordingly, devised an amazing tour which was educational, fun and leisurely. She has a lot of spirit which is much appreciated. All the hotels you booked in each destinations are top-notch, that deliver an exceptional experience that combines luxury, comfort, cleanliness, convenience, and outstanding hospitality of all staff. The breakfast buffet are all delicious and so many dishes, noodles, desserts, dumplings, breads, fruits and beverages to choose from. Voco Chengdu Chunxi Road Hotel, Floor 3, Room 6359 and SEYA Hotel in Chongquing, Floor 59, Room 5905 - are our favorites. In SEYA hotel, our acrylic bathtub is facing the floor to ceiling glass wall, so we have the panoramic view of the city and the river view. Part of the ceiling also is all mirror - what a terrific view from the bed below ☺. We enjoyed our daily afternoon tea-time, enjoyed interacting with XiaoBai - the high-tech robotic dog by the hotel’s reception area, and most importantly, we enjoyed the STORM SPA. The storm spa has an immersive audio-visuals-lighting effects and simulated rainfall! What a high-tech weather-themed hydrotherapy experience - we ONLY SEE IN CHINA!
Speaking of the tour guides, all of them are knowledgeable, professional, friendly, patient, and passionate about sharing the history, culture, and hidden gems of each destination. They listen carefully to our interests, respect our preferences, and personalize the itinerary to ensure you experience the places that matter most to us without feeling rushed. Robbie in Xian - the happy face man & Mr Robbie-pedia as in Wikipedia - the seamless problem-solver! He was also full of surprises for us - with the savory home made lunch (you cannot get any more local than that), and a delicious anniversary cake with fresh fruits inside! We were sincerely touched by his thoughtfulness!
Diana in Chengdu, Leshan & Emeishan - her unwavering patience, calmness & contagious enthusiasm makes us so comfortable!
Fay in Chonquing - very dependable & very accommodating to our needs. She is a beautiful fashionista with a dynamic interpersonal skills!

We started our trip to China with a bang in Shanghai with our incredible guide Qi. She showed us both the history and tradition of ancient China and the ambition and growth of modern China. We visited all the famous sites of Shanghai and had a chance to eat the local specialties. Qi took extra care to understand our needs and preferences and customized the tour for us. We are very fond of local food and Qi ensured we tasted a lot of street food. She recommended the chinese circus which we really enjoyed, it was a heart pulsing show with incredible dare devilry. Qi also took us to visit the village of Zhujiajiao, the Venice of China, a quaint small town which gave us a taste of the rural life. With Qi, everything was smooth sailing, we didnt have to worry about anything. She ensured our trip to Shanghai was pleasant and memorable.

We traveled around in China for a month, using China Highlights to organize the trip from beginning to the end. And we were not disappointed- If I could give more than 5 stars I would! We are traveling a lot, so we know what to compare to, and China Highlights has been outstanding- all the way from the planning phase to the very last minute of our trip, their co-workers have done their utmost to tail everything to our liking and giving us remarkable memories. They were always there when needed (even in the middle of the night), from changing plans in the last moment to such trivial things like finding our favorite coffee in a remote village (our guide ordered it online;)). A great thanks to Camila in the backoffice and all our guides who have used their vast knowledge and experience to create this wonderful journey through China. We spent three days in Chongqing, a metropolis that we only knew through YouTube and Instagram. It has been a very positive travel experience, in a town that - with its 32 million people and a complex geography - could have been a problem visiting. Our guide Johanna of China Highlights made everything smooth for us, taking us first to Dazu to visit the rock carvings, then through the ancient and most modern parts of the town, skipping the most crowded points without losing the sight of the most interesting things. The bad weather did not spoil our visit to this modern city, that we recommend to all those interested in discovering the most innovative aspects of the Chinese life today.

We booked a 26-day tour with China Highlights to Beijing, Xian, Lhasa, Chengdu, Chongqing, Yangtze, Yichang, Zhangjiajie, Shanghai. It was definitely a trip of a lifetime for us! Our itinerary included spectacular sights, cultural experiences and shows. This was a very extensive tour and everything was well organized including the guides, hotels, and transportation. Our travel coordinator Leeky was awesome! She helped us plan a custom itinerary, was very flexible and responsive. Cannot recommend Leeky and China Highlights enough!

Leon from China Highlights is a great tour manager who went beyond himself to plan a great holiday for my family and I. This was oir first trip to China and we had many reservations about our trip. But Leon made it completely hasselfree and we had a fantastic time there. The booking process was superb and thus we expected the same once we arrived.However, no coordination between head office and independent tour agencies hired .Guides not properly briefed - our guide had poor historical knowledge and did not give an outline of each days program and just herded us along .Skipped stuff like drive through Tiananmen square as it was inconvenient traffic wise! she seemed to be controlled by the driver who did not wish to stop along the way so we could have lunch as he wanted to take us directly back to the hotel.We had to request you to intervene. Not a good experience at all and all three of us felt "cheated" as we have paid and the services were not delivered.

Regarding Tiananmen Square: After adjusting the itinerary due to large crowds, our guide offered you the chance to alight at the square, and you opted to remain in the vehicle to skip the long queues.
On the Great Wall day, lunch was not part of the plan and your guide did check with you; when you later asked to join friends for dinner, we quickly rearranged and asked the guide and driver to follow your wishes, and they waited and drove you back to the hotel afterwards.
