BE CAREFUL
BE CAREFUL - We wanted to buy our daughter a dress for her end of year prom however as she was undecided as to which she preferred we bought two with the purpose of returning one. One dress was £48 and the other was £34 however despite postage being insanely expensive at £20 we reluctantly agreed to pay the £102 as my daughter really wanted it. Both dresses arrived and to be fair the quality was better than expected however that was the only positive. When returning the £34 dress we were then told that £3 would be deducted for the cost of returning (so clearly this is true cost of shipping, not the £20 they are charging) and we also noticed (annoyingly not at the time) that we had been charged £20 VAT despite saying on their website that VAT is included and you don’t pay VAT on children’s clothes!!?? So £122 in total. We are disputing this now but BE WARNED what should have been a £48 dress + £20 shipping may well end up costing us £91 if they try to justify the inclusion of VAT - meaning we’ve paid nearly as much in fees as the cost of the actual dress!!
