Félix - Envíos de dinero por WhatsApp

Possible Identity Theft

I was provided a link to Felix to submit payment for a deposit. Felix, the company has a WhatsApp business account, to which I was prompted to their website to give my credit card information, a front and back photo of my government issued I.D., and a live picture of myself, from left to right. However, twice, it indicated my transaction would not go through, yet it collected this highly confidential information. I called my credit card company, who said Felix tried to initiate a zero-dollar transaction, which they approved and said they do not have any problems on their end, and that it would be a problem on Felix's side. I was not (yet) charged the amount, but I believe this can be identity theft as Felix only says they are sorry they cannot process the payment. Edit* I received the below reply from Felix, though it does not address the core problem – possible identity theft. You mentioned higher amounts require more verification; however, my credit card company informed me it's a problem on your end since they allowed the transaction to occur. You still did not process the transaction, yet collected these highly private information that only the Internal Revenue Service would collect. Also, your parameter of "high amount" seems to change from your replies to other complaints. And the amount I requested was below that parameter.
