Flutterwave payment platform used in a fraud scam — poor response
I am extremely disappointed with Flutterwave and the way my fraud report has been handled. I was the victim of a scam where criminals gained access to information relating to a legitimate hotel booking and then contacted me through WhatsApp, impersonating the hotel. They instructed me to make a payment, which was processed through Flutterwave. I reported the fraud immediately to my bank and provided all the relevant information, including details of the transaction and how the scam took place. Despite Flutterwave being the payment platform used to move the money, I have received no meaningful support or evidence that proper action has been taken to investigate the account that received the funds. Payment platforms have a responsibility to protect users and prevent their services from being exploited by criminals. When a platform is used to facilitate fraudulent payments, customers deserve a serious investigation, transparency, and cooperation. My experience has left me extremely concerned about the level of fraud prevention and customer support offered by Flutterwave. I would strongly advise people to think carefully about using payment services that do not appear to respond effectively when their systems are used by scammers. Transaction details and evidence have been provided to the relevant parties, and I am still seeking a proper resolution.
