Batteries

What happened to good service?

When I got my car back from its regular service, the engineer told me that the battery was not performing at full capacity. He said that it only held 49% of charge. This battery has a three year warranty and was only one year into this. I also had a previous battery from the NRMA fail and had to be replaced. After calling the NRMA a service person arrived. He started my car up 3 times and left it running. I thought this was strange as it would put a positive charge into the battery. I asked him what test he was going to do. He asked me what test I wanted him to do. Wasn't he the expert? I explained about my engineers report and showed him what he had written. He said this wasn't good enough and wanted to see figures. So I asked him carry out his own test. He said "fine" and put his meter across the terminals. The reading was 12.4v which he said was fine. I queried why the engineers report said the battery had failed a test but he said the battery was fine. He replied that there wasn't anything else he could do so I rang the managers office. I spoke to a manager for about 20 minutes but didn't get anywhere, except for her to say that all she could do was to pass it on to the complaints department. They would be in touch with me in about 10 days time! Not knowing what else to do I decided that I would speak to my engineer the next day. He told me that he had photographic proof of the test, which he sent me. I called the NRMA again the next day and explained the current situation. After a lot of hassle they agreed to send another service person to do another test. You can imagine how frustrated I was feeling by now. Anyway the new guy tested the battery and found it to be at 40% capacity, even worse. So he changed the battery for a new one and gave me a new 3 year warranty. So we have to ask.... 1/ Why didn't the first person carry out the same test, if he had he would have known the problem. 2/ Was he trying to save the NRMA money? 3/ Is this how they instruct their patrol people? 4/ Or was he just being obstructive for his own reasons? Whatever the reasons, be very careful who you choose to buy your car battery from. They have now let me down twice. I know for me, never again from this supplier.

Zazzle AU

From the viewpoint of a contributor

I am a designer that submits designs for Zazzle's items for sale. I have to say that Zazzle is the fairest company to deal with in the 'Print on Demand' (POD) market. They are a pleasure to work with and immediately attend to any issues of concern on both parts. I would definitely recommend Zazzle if you are thinking about a side line business in POD.
