Hidden subscription trap – €59.98 charged and refund refused
AVOID PDFAid. One star is already too generous. I clicked the “Upgrade” button believing that I was paying €9.99 for the PDF service I needed. About one week later, PDFAid took another €49.99 from my card for a recurring subscription that I never knowingly intended to purchase. In total, they charged me €59.98. The subscription and the much larger automatic charge were not presented clearly or prominently enough during the payment process. I did not knowingly sign up for an expensive recurring membership, and I received no proper warning before the €49.99 charge. I contacted their customer service and spoke to them by phone. They told me: “Please wait 30 minutes, and we will send you an email.” After 30 minutes, nothing arrived. Later, instead of solving the problem, they simply sent an email refusing to refund my money. In my experience, this is a hidden-subscription trap: a small initial payment is followed by a much larger automatic charge that the customer may not realise they have agreed to. The customer service call only wasted more of my time, and their final response was a complete refusal to take responsibility. After this happened, I checked other reviews and saw that other customers have also complained about unclear subscriptions and unexpected recurring charges. Do not enter your card details on this website. Use another PDF service. I am disputing the transaction with my bank and reporting this billing practice to the relevant consumer authorities. Absolutely unacceptable. They lie even on their feedback - no one send me email with refund information
