DHgate

Poor customer service, website and dispute process. Deceptive.

I purchased two products from one vendor. First product worked but had terrible instructions in Chinese (no english) so it was difficult to figure out. Second product wasn't what I ordered but was a cheaper substitution that was missing an extra part that was supposed to be included. So the vendor was deceptive because he tried to do a bait and switch to a cheaper bundle. Also, the product description for the bad item wasn't accurate and descriptions in general don't have enough ratings info to know the pros and cons of the goods (sizes, performance) and there generally are no returns so you are risking a good price with the hassle of a dispute if there is a problem-which there is often is. Website to file a dispute is rigged to get you to release payment by clicking a received button which has a disclaimer pop up that you can't dispute if you click it. Then also has a built in 24 hour delay so you can't file a dispute even when tracking shows items were received and have to come back 24 hours later. Difficult to provide feedback so can't warn others of problems. Dispute resolution is similarly deceptive and the agents lie and try to cheat you out of the refund. They don't give you time to respond to their arbitration and rush to close shorting you with a low partial refund of 30% which wasn't what they agreed to (100% refund). Then when I follow up emailed that I wanted to return the item they didn't send the prepaid shipping label and did the 30% refund anyway and they don't show you how much they are refunding so you have to go look it up on your credit card transaction ledger to see what they actually did a few days later. Terrible website and customer service. Aliexpress.com is much better. I ended up filing a credit card dispute for the remaining money they didn't refund.
