NOT A GROUP TOUR
⚠️ **NOT A GROUP TOUR - JUST A MAN BOOKING THINGS ONLINE ** * Joe (Anuj) described IndoGusto as a large, established tour company and represented my trip as a group tour. I therefore expected to travel with other IndoGusto customers and an IndoGusto tour leader. During my trip, however, I travelled alone and did not meet an IndoGusto group or tour leader or guest. I strongly recommend requesting written information about the company’s staffing, structure, expected group size, and who will operate and coordinate the tour. * The services provided during my trip included FlixBus transport, budget accommodation, and third-party day tours from get your guide, Viator, etc. Based on the prices I found, the total cost for everything received appeared to be less than half the amount I paid. * My experience differed from the positive reviews I had seen. Many reviews appear to concern short or single-day tours, which may not be directly comparable to a longer, multi day trip. Prospective customers should review the details of each testimonial and consider whether it relates to a similar itinerary and service. * Joe told me not to respond to Tour Hub messages because they were “auto-generated.” I followed that advice at the time. In retrospect, responding to those messages may have provided an opportunity for redress. MY RECOMMENDATIONS Before paying, request and retain written confirmation of all material details, including: * Who is expected to attend and the anticipated group size * Arrival dates * Transport and accommodation arrangements (look closely at these before paying) * The identity and role of any tour leader * Exactly what is included in the price * Which services are provided by IndoGusto and which are provided by third parties * Who is responsible for operating and coordinating the tour * Whether the trip is a group tour and, where appropriate, what information can be provided about other confirmed participants.
