False advertising - Scooter not as described - Claimed section 75
I bought an ESMAX 500w scooter from Aovopro.com in September. They are falsely advertising the specs. The scooter that was delivered had a 36v battery and 350w motor controller, not 42v and 500w as advertised. Complained to Aovopro.com asking for a full refund, they eventually offered a partial refund if I returned the scooter in the original packaging. Who keeps a huge box like that for months(!), it's a tactic to add friction to the refund process - I declined that offer. The Consumer rights act covers you for this, you are not obliged to have kept original packaging. Anyway, eventually raised a Section 75 claim with my bank sending them all of the evidence and I've just received a full refund from Aovopro.com and I still have the scooter. As long as you bought your scooter within the last 6 months, you are entitled to raise a claim from your card provider (UK law). I've also flagged with advertising standards as they are conning people with false advertising.
