The futon is well constructed
The futon is well constructed, comfortable. Years ago I had the same type of futon, which is why I chose the wool and cotton version again. Having used a traditional mattress for a decade, I've had to readjust to the futon I just purchased, some variations in the surface thickness due to futon construction ( high and low areas) and compression in the sleeping areas. I'll see how it responds in the next few years, but know it will be suitable anyway. The futon fit up a narrow & low stairway, a benefit over a traditional mattress if passageway is an issue.
