Avoid NewRez if you have a choice. While their customer service representatives are polite when dealing with frustrated customers, the company's underlying processes are atrocious. Their standard response to any issue is a 10-day review period, followed by another 30 to 60 days—only to ultimately deny your request. When my local Tax Collector made an error, NewRez created an escrow account and began collecting triple my normal payment. Even after I provided official documentation from the Tax Collector admitting the mistake, NewRez refused to adjust the escrow account. Instead, they insist on waiting another 60 days for a refund from the county, all while forcing me to cover the inflated payments out-of-pocket to keep the escrow active. Extremely disappointing experience and zero flexibility for customer errors caused by third parties.
