This brand has gone really downhill…
This brand has gone really downhill in recent years. They’ve clearly outsourced their operation for cost reasons, and there’s definitely a difference in quality now. I used to recommend Green Chef a lot, and I enjoyed several boxes a year. Now, I’m about to cancel my subscription entirely after being a loyal customer for over 6 years now. The final nail in the coffin is the fact that they will knowingly send fresh food to the landfill, before an order has even been prepared (let alone shipped), because they have no donation mechanism in place and have now completely outsourced their entire production process. So, they can tell you that your box hasn’t been packaged up yet, but they can’t stop it from being packaged up and shipped, and they can’t even have it donated. Nope, they’d rather their food goes straight into the trash than spend the money to be in control of their operations (which they used to be, years ago, back when the quality was top notch). I would have recommended the Green Chef from 5 years ago no questions asked no qualms about it. I cannot recommend the Green Chef of today at all. Edit: FYI, as of July 29, 2026, no one from Green Chef has reached out to me. So you can see how reliable their customer service actually is. It has no doubt also been outsourced at this point, like all the rest of their operations.
