An e-mail being sent today
An e-mail being sent today, June 3, to Dan in Customer Service expresses my experience: ----------------------------------------- cc: via printed mail to Mr. Tony van Veen (see note in italic below) Good morning Dan, I will gather the information you have asked for and send it along as soon as I am able. But I will tell you in advance that I consider your request an insult to my integrity. AND, it shows that you were obviously not able to comprehend and appreciate the data I gave you sufficient enough to pass it on to your procurement team. And this is why: When we spoke on the phone I gave you the essential information, in detail, that you are now asking me to provide . . . again. Did you not make any notes during our conversation? I gave you the chip and Mac OS of the Mac computer I am using. I told that I am using a Mac SuperDrive to burn discs . . . and that it has never failed to do so . . . one, single, time. I gave the version of the Toast Titanium software I have been using successfully for EVERY other disc I have ever attempted to burn. I gave the brand names of four other DVDs used in a test, with your "DVD-R Ultra White IJ F/C 16X" mixed in to a sequence burning copies of some videos . . . and your disc was the ONLY one that failed, with the others performing perfectly, before and after your disc failed in that continuous sequence. And I gave you paraphrased versions of the texts of the error messages I got as your discs failed. I will send you screenshots of those messages. But I do so because my 45 years of doing business in the book manufacturing industry, and visiting plants in the U.S., Scotland, England, Spain, Belgium, Dubai, Hong Kong, and plants in mainland China . . . and having been a customer of Disc Makers for some years, I would like to suggest that if a specific element in the configuration of hardware and software – was missing from the profile of my system that I have already given you – I suggest that Disc Makers should publish a "systems requirement" with each of its discs being advertised on its Web site. I told you how I had tried five times to make your discs work, each time putting aside the ones that had failed and using a fresh one for the next test. And when I tried one on my older Mac, which also has a SuperDrive, with an earlier version of the Toast Titanium (which I gave you), the Toast software simply quit. This happened twice. And I will say I am disappointed you have not provided what you promised to send me, a UPS mailing label by which I can return the discs to you. Albert Yokum A printed copy of this e-mail is being posted to Mr. Tony van Veen, since Timothy with whom I've just spoken at Disc Makers needed to pass me on to someone else when I asked for Mr. Veen's e-mail address. And after keeping me on hold for a long time, returned to say the person who could provide it was in a meeting, but I could leave a message in his voice mail. I choose instead to send a letter rather than wait for someone to call me back to give information I believe should be available on your Web site.
