Good and not so.
Our guide and driver were terrific, we couldn't ask for a more knowledgeable, friendlier, efficient pair who went out of their way to intuit and meet our smallest needs and wishes. Highly, highly recommend Sonam and Dechen. You guys were tremendous. However, our first experience of Bhutan was the Capitol Hotel in Thimpu, which was underwhelming. It is a 3-star business travel hotel, totally unsuited to a high-end tourist travel experience. This stood out in sharp contrast to the other 2 hotels - Dhensa in Punaka and Como in Paro - both of which were more appropriate to the experience. The vehicle had defective seat belts at the back - given the mountainous terrain, this was a concern, though the driver to pains to make manual adjustments where he could. This is definitely an area of improvement. Dealing with DrukAsia was a pleasure both in Singapore and Bhutan. They were efficient and responsive.
