Greyhound Bus

Absolutely unacceptable experience with…

Absolutely unacceptable experience with Greyhound. I booked a trip weeks in advance and received confirmation for my route, including the Houston to Tallahassee segment. Then, at the last minute, Greyhound canceled the Tallahassee trip due to a “driver shortage.” This was not caused by weather, emergencies, or anything outside their control — this was purely poor operational planning. What makes this even worse is the replacement itinerary they offered. My original trip was approximately 9 hours, but the so-called “replacement” route would take around 16 HOURS. Adding an extra 7 hours to an already exhausting trip is completely unreasonable. To make matters worse, a SENIOR is traveling on this reservation. Expecting an older passenger to sit through an additional 7 hours of overnight bus travel, extra transfers, delays, and exhaustion because Greyhound failed to properly staff their routes is careless and unacceptable. Customers plan around these schedules: * hotel check-ins, * family pickups, * medical needs, * work schedules, * rest, * and safety. Greyhound clearly does not value their passengers’ time, comfort, or wellbeing. Selling tickets for routes they apparently cannot even staff properly should not be acceptable business practice. The communication was last-minute, the alternative offered was terrible, and there was no meaningful accommodation for the inconvenience caused. A 16-hour reroute is NOT equivalent transportation. For a company that advertises nationwide travel service, this experience felt disorganized, unreliable, and incredibly stressful. I would strongly caution anyone — especially seniors, families, or people traveling long distance — against relying on Greyhound for important trips
