Rail Ninja

Copenhagen to Stockholm

My experience last week with Rail Ninja could have been better. The biggest problem was that the high-speed SJ train I booked through Rail Ninja from Copenhagen to Stockholm was cancelled, and has apparently not been operating from Copenhagen during most of the summer (you have to take a different train to Malmo first, and then switch to an SJ train there). Luckily, when I arrived at Copenhagen station, I just happened to show my ticket to a station official (inquiring whether I could use the lounge area) and she told me the train was cancelled and I would have to take a different train from a different carrier from Copenhagen to Malmo--and that I'd have to get on the one departing in just 5 minutes! Had I not spoken with this woman and had I not allowed extra time at the station, I would not have discovered this so quickly and would not have been able to catch up with my SJ train in Malmo. Rail Ninja should have notified me about this. Its app, once you have your tickets, is not useful, since it does not include any kind of monitoring function to let you know if trains are on-time/late/cancelled (you need to use the sites of the carriers you're traveling on). The site was easy to use to find and book a train, and I had no problem getting the tickets, but the deficiency regarding my cancelled train is a major blunder, and for that reason, I would not trust this service again.
