So I'm on zip recruiter trying to find employment to which I've been unsuccessful. Now I'm not only let down by their company and policies, but I could be facing legal trouble if it goes in the wrong direction which is against me due to some scammer finding my information on ZipRecruiter and saying they wanted to hire me as their driver, then sending me a fraudulent check as payment! I would have thought a large company such as ZipRecruiter would have better safeguards in place to protect people and their information against these sort of things. I guess that's why I didn't think that it was fraud but now after speaking with the police and showing them the text messages from this "prospective employer" whom contacted me, they believed me when I told them I thought it was a scam but apparently they still have to send a report to detectives and ultimately it's up to the prosecutor to decide whether or not to try and charge me with check fraud! When I try to contact ZipRecruiter by phone over this matter I get a recorded message and told to email their support. So I guess I'll wait and see how this plays out but for now Im removing my profile from zip recruiter and I expect Zip recruiter to reach out to me directly via phone to discuss this matter because this is my freedom, integrity and my image at stake!
