Agoda

Agoda protects bait-and-switch scam hosts until you threaten a bank Chargeback

Agoda protects bait-and-switch scam hosts until you threaten a bank ChargebackBooked Charbel Apartments Hurghada (Booking ID: 709683975, Oct 17–21, 2026) through Agoda. The property turned out to be an uninhabitable construction dump with zero sea view. We left immediately, checked into Golden Rose Hotel for the entire 4 nights, and sent full photo/video evidence to Agoda Customer Service on day one. Instead of refunding us immediately, Agoda Customer Experience Group put us through 4 days of psychological torture and copy-paste scripts:First, an Agoda agent admitted in writing to a "technical error on our end" and offered a laughable $24.62 in AgodaCash. Then another agent retracted the technical error and blindly believed the fraudulent host's lie that we "stayed for 1 night."When we proved the host lied by sending an official stamped invoice from Golden Rose Hotel, Agoda tried to lowball us with a 50% refund, then demanded a signature over the hotel stamp, and once provided, tried to trap us into accepting 60% in restricted AgodaCash! Only after I rejected every partial offer and prepared a formal Visa Chargeback with my bank did Agoda finally cancel the booking and refund 100% of my money. Agoda's support system is designed to exhaust victims into giving up 40–50% of their money to scam properties
