Key Benefit Cut by 50% After Purchase
I have been a customer of Gname for quite some time and have generally had a positive experience, which makes this review disappointing to write. I purchased one of Gname's reseller plans due to advertised benefits. Just a few months later, one of the plan's key benefits was reduced by 50% for existing customers. Support explained that this was due to increased costs from an upstream partner. I raised the issue through support and management channels, but the company ultimately decided to keep the change in place and offered no accommodation to customers who had already purchased the plan under the previous structure. My concern is not that costs changed. My concern is that the value of a paid lifetime plan was materially reduced after purchase. In my view, if a company sells a paid plan based on a certain set of benefits, existing customers should be able to rely on those benefits for a reasonable period of time. Changing them only a few months after purchase damages trust and raises serious fairness concerns. Based on my experience, prospective customers should not assume that the benefits of a paid "lifetime plan" will remain unchanged after purchase.
