Omega XL Allowed Unauthorized Access to My Account
I ordered Omega XL for someone as a gift and opened an account. A subscription was required to access the special offer and my credit card was on file. After the first order was shipped, I became unable to access my account. Omega XL had allowed someone else, who knew the telephone number, to access my account, which had my payment information stored for future purchases, and make changes that resulted in me being unable to access my account. The only reason I learned of it was because Omega XL sent an email informing me of the changes after the fact. I immediately sent Omega XL an email about it and there was no response. I called Omega XL and spoke with Noris, who tried to give a sales pitch while I was attempting to find out what happened and regain access to my account. Noris said someone who knew the phone number called and changed my account information. Noris stated that Omega XL’s policy is to allow anyone who calls and knows the telephone number associated with an account to access and make changes to the account. Noris seemed offended when I did not want to hear her sales pitch while I was trying to ascertain why Omega XL would give someone access to my account with my credit card information stored for purchases. Noris seemed not to care about that, only about selling me something else. I asked for a supervisor and Noris said there were no supervisors available. I had Noris close my account, but I still don’t know what may or may not have been ordered by someone whom Omega XL decided to allow access to my account. I am reporting Omega XL to my bank as any additional charges are fraudulent. I am also reporting Omega XL to the authorities for allowing someone else to access my account and make changes just because they knew the phone number associated with the account. A gift purchase does not translate to account access.
