Canyon Coolers

Exceptional, Underrated Cooler!

I did a lot of research before landing on the Outfitter 22 V2 that I bought. I had just bought a Canyon Pro 65 a little over a week before buying this Outfitter 22 V2 because I needed a much better large cooler than the old 48 quart Coleman that I had been using (see my review on the Pro 65 for details on that cooler). I realized that I also needed a small cooler for small/short trips, beach outings, or cases when I need just a little more space once the Pro 65 is full. Despite having just gotten a Canyon Pro 65, I still researched other small coolers to make sure that the Canyon Outfitter 22 V2 would be my top pick. For multiple reasons, I settled on Canyon again. A few of those reasons are Canyon’s lifetime warranty, the rotomolding process, recessed latches (and no other protrusions around the body either), inclusion of a shoulder strap instead of a swing handle, fantastic packability, and robust latches that are easy to use. Performance should be on par with or exceeding the other rotomolded options that I looked at, so these are some of the standout design features that settled me on Canyon again and that the competitors either lacked or were not as good. I’m an engineer, so I take my research seriously. I’ll also say, Canyon has probably the best color options out of any cooler brand that I looked at; I got this Outfitter 22 V2 in Juniper Green, which is way better than the greens that I saw from other brands! Below are a few suggestions and comments about the cooler itself: 1. Maybe design a drain plug that has a cord attaching it to the body to prevent loss. For one, people should have enough responsibility and common sense to keep up with their drain plug anyway, but people are people, and people fail, and many people will complain about this when it’s really their fault that they lost it anyway. Adding this feature would prevent people from complaining and blaming Canyon in their reviews if they choose to complain about this topic. 2. Adding an embossed ruler to the lids would be a cool feature. Some other brands have this, and it isn’t a deal breaker by any means, but it would likely add some value for a lot of people. Quick side note: Canyon’s divider/table is a wonderful accessory since it eliminates having to place drinks on the cooler lid and then having to remove them any time it needs to be opened. I saw other coolers with molded in cup holders and thought about this; I’d much rather have the side table than molded in cup holders, so I’ll probably get the one for the Outfitter 22 V2 since it’s slightly different from the one included with the Pro 65. It makes the cooler so versatile. Sorry for the lengthiness; Canyon definitely checks all of my boxes!
