Misleading free version – full recording unusable without payment
EaseUS RecExperts uses a very unfair and misleading business practice. The software allowed me to record a full long video without any clear warning, saved it as a .mkv.dat file, and only AFTER the recording was finished did it inform me that without payment I can export or play only 1 minute. This is a classic bait-and-switch tactic. The user invests hours of time and is then forced to pay or lose the entire recording. There is no clear upfront warning that the full recording will be unusable without a subscription. This limitation is clearly intentional and not a technical necessity. A transparent software would warn the user before recording starts. I do not recommend this software. There are honest free alternatives (such as OBS Studio) that do not lock your recordings behind a paywall after the fact.
