Deceptive, anti-consumer business practices

When I booked through a business using Momence, I saw line items for the ticket price and a card fee, but the total didn't match. A 4% "service fee" was hidden behind a small info icon, not listed as a line item. Only after completing the purchase did I receive a receipt that correctly itemized all charges. Presenting an incomplete breakdown that looks complete is textbook deceptive design. It likely violates California's Honest Pricing Law (SB 478), which requires that displayed prices include all mandatory fees, and the state's Unfair Competition Law (Bus. & Prof. Code § 17200), which prohibits practices likely to mislead consumers. I've filed a complaint with the California Attorney General. Businesses using Momence should look into how fees are displayed to their customers unless they want this shady business practice to reflect on them.
