Proceed With Caution
Subject: My Experience Shipping Excavators with Guided Freight / Guided Imports If you are considering shipping heavy machinery from China, I am sharing my experience for your due diligence. I strongly recommend that Guided Freight / Guided Imports, specifically Mack Jarosz and Sam Boyd, be thoroughly vetted before you proceed. They handled my recent excavator shipment, which is currently held by U.S. Customs. After experiencing delays, I hired an independent import/export broker to review the paperwork provided to me; she identified discrepancies in the documentation. As a result of these documentation issues, I have been informed that my shipment is at risk of seizure by the U.S. Government or being returned to China. I have been in direct contact with a U.S. Customs agent who explained that to me. We paid nearly $30,000 for a service that was represented as a "start-to-finish" solution. Given the current status of my cargo and the errors found in the filing, I advise extreme caution. Update: Yes; I did get my tariff & trucking money back. Now the cost of 3 machines and a container is a loss. I was not listed as the importer of record even though I had paid for the machines and the container.
