Promoted a closed property for months
Agoda promoted a property "Circular House" to me with a special for a stopover two days before travel. I bought it, then on arriving in Singapore, found the place abandoned and dark with a note saying to claim a refund from my provider. I tried to contact Agoda (the online chat was shut) but it refused me a refund and said everywhere else was booked. I ended up having to spend significantly more on a hotel I found on foot. The next day I managed to contact Agoda through their online chat but they kept giving me different windows for resolution - eventually refunding me 12 days later. I have tried and failed to get in touch with them for compensation over this issue. I've since found out from TripAdvisor that the same note had been there last November! They must have known. Agoda are still promoting the property despite my experience and I would never book with them again. ID: 1986749848
