Pharmacist OPENLY Violates HIPAA Laws and Doesn't Care
Unbelievable. A friend of mine stopped to pick up a prescription from the North Myrtle Beach pharmacy today that was called in by my DENTIST for an upcoming procedure I'm scheduled to have later this week because I was called out of town and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get back in time to pick it up beforehand. The pharmacist proceeded to give him UNSOLICITED MEDICAL information about me regarding my immunization history and that I am "past due for 5 vaccines." When I called to complain, instead of APOLOGIIZING and recognizing that they had violated HIPAA by disclosing protected medical information without permission, the pharmacist told me if I "didn't like it" I should get my prescriptions somewhere else. I am completely blown away. God only KNOWS what other patient information they're disclosing. WHO is RUNNING THAT PLACE????
