Driveway

It has been over 4 weeks and still no car

Where do I start? I searched for a long time for the perfect vehicle and finally found it at Audi Van Nuys in California. I spoke with the dealership and everything went smooth as we discussed the vehicle and pricing. I then let them know I was purchasing the vehicle remotely. They then told me that for out of state purchases, I would work with Driveway through the rest of the process and thats where this process fell apart. It took two days for them to reach out to me just to verify my information and then told me they would reach out to make sure the vehicle would not be sold by the dealership while we finished the process (thats a huge red flag). Then it took three more days for finance to even call me back to go over the pricing and details of the sale.(which we already went over) but that was another three days wasted. Then I had to wait two more days for a final finance phone call from driveway that took 10 minutes but came 40 minutes later than the appointed time. She advised me that she was sending electronic paperwork to sign and that the longer I took to review and sign, I would just delay the process. The original sent paperwork had the wrong phone number attached so I couldnt access it or sign it. Eventually i recieved accurate paperwork. After 20 minutes I had it reviewed and signed and returned. She told me they would send more paperwork in the mail that needed wet signatures and I would also received wiring instructions(which they sent after i sent all the paperwork back to them so i couldnt use it ) for the down payment. Paperwork arrived promptly over night and I had it signed, notarized, and back in the over night mail back to them within about 90 minutes. It then took 4 days for me to hear back from them, only after I called to find out what was taking so long. Thats when I received an email saying they had not received any financing from my bank and that it would delay the process if I didn't call and take care of it quickly. My loan had already processed so I was able to get ahold of Driveway to ask what was going on. After being put on hold for about 10 minutes, they miraculously found my financial institutions wire and everything was all good on my end. This ends the absolute nightmare of the sales and finance process( there's more if you really want to know) Now on to the delivery, I was contacted the same day finance was done and he then let me know that it could be 3 to 5 days for a carrier to accept the delivering of my vehicle. Which seemed crazy to me but maybe it is normal for California. Anyhow, day 8 came along and I still hadn't even heard anything, so I reached out. I was then told that it averages closer to 10 days and they will be changing their policy but didn't feel like letting me know. Here we are on day 11 still waiting to hear back from Driveway to find out if my wife's Birthday present is ever going to be delivered. This is un beleivable. I will never recommend Driveway nor ever use them again. This is my 4th out of state purchase and it is the only one that has taken more than a few days. This has been the worst car purchase I have ever been a part of and I did car sales and finance management for years. The only reason I am giving a star at all is the hopefully when my wife's new car finally arrives, she absolutely loves it. But this process has been truly terrible.
