We purchased what we thought was a white gold pendant and white gold chain from Effy on a Celebrity cruise ship in October 2024. As time passed the “gold” chain was not gold at all. We paid $3,500.00 for the piece and the chain was switched to sterling silver by the salesman. We went on another Celebrity cruise this month, May 2026. We brought the piece to the Effy store on board but the salesman said he could not do anything but gave us the contact information of the corporate office in NY. He assured us they were all about customer service and told us they would make it right.My husband wrote to them immediately upon our return home. Their response was a joke, They offered that we return the sterling silver chain and would give us a store credit for $165 and if we wanted the gold chain that we originally purchased, we could pay an additional $425 because gold has increased since our purchase. The store representative cheated us and the corporate office of Effy is standing behind this and asking us to pay current mark up for something we already bought. We will never again purchase anything from Effy. I would also urge everyone from supporting this organization that stands behind their dishonest sales people instead of a customer.
