First time I wrote trailing stop loss at IB was miserable. Two hours on the phone. The system wasn’t working it showed I only had a fraction on one share when I had 30 shares worth over $10,000 USD. They walked through to process changing the instructions each time. Later I found they had sold all my stop loss shares instead of placing trailing stops. They cost me months of ownership selling when I didn’t want to, upped my tax liability plus lost stocks I bought for the long term. After that they back peddled on the systems erroneous share count, the untrained broker’s advice on how to place the trade. Professional Services were even a bigger joke. I moved my account needless to say.
