Below expectations
First, events were canceled that were advertising the pre-trip of Rome. This bothered us a lot. Local guides that were hired or not as knowledgeable as on our other trips. There are two guides that were very good, but the rest were not. Another reason, my husband wanted to go on this trip was to hear more about the Italian invasion by Allied troops. But Mr. Eisenhower got off on tangent, and talked way more about other things. It was clear his knowledge of this area was not sufficient. The GOHAGEN tour directors on our ship were not very helpful. Seem to be an extraneous cost. The Canadian Tours Director, a male, I can’t think of his name, didn’t seem to do anything on the cruise. He said he had over 30 years of experience. I have no idea what he did to help. Even though the world traveler was a beautiful ship, the service and food was well below our expectations.
