A Huge Waste of Time
I spent months in the NACA program and ultimately walked away without qualifying despite repeatedly providing updated documents, explanations, and financial information. The process felt like a moving target. As conditions were satisfied, new requirements appeared, documents expired before review, and obtaining clear answers regarding timelines and remaining qualification hurdles was difficult. The most frustrating part was learning about significant additional qualification requirements months into the process that would have impacted my decision to participate had they been disclosed earlier. I ultimately pursued other options. One thing prospective applicants should be aware of is that participation activities are part of the program. In my experience, writing reviews was encouraged as part of that participation. Because of this, I would encourage people to look beyond early-stage reviews and focus on feedback from individuals who have successfully completed the entire process and actually purchased a home. If you are considering NACA, be prepared for a potentially lengthy process, repeated document submissions, and uncertainty regarding qualification requirements and timelines.
