Click2refund

A service that created more problems than it solved - it is only after 2.5 year and threatening Click2Refund with legal action that I got my money...

SCAM! Click2Refund received my airline compensation over a year before telling me and kept the money. I only managed to recover part of it after spending months chasing them, verifying information with CEDR, threatening legal action, and making the case public. In March 2023, my intercontinental flight was delayed by more than 6 hours. The airline refused to pay the compensation I was legally entitled to, so in January 2024 I hired Click2Refund. They told me the process would probably take a few months and that their fee would be 28% of the compensation received. In January 2025, I contacted Click2Refund for an update. They told me the airline had claimed the case was already settled directly with me (which was false), and I discovered Click2Refund had stopped the procedure without informing me. After proving nothing had been settled, they restarted handling the case. I provided my bank details so they could transfer the compensation once received. In March 2026, after 2 years of waiting, I asked for an update and received no answer. In April 2026, I started posting about my case on Click2Refund’s official Facebook page. Once the case became public, Click2Refund contacted me saying: “Great News, we got your money!” They asked again for my bank details (which they already had since January 2025) but gave no information about the amount, the date the case was won, or the court decision. I requested the official documentation, the court case number, and details about their fees. Instead of providing proper documents, Click2Refund sent incomplete screenshots with missing dates and sender information. They refused to provide the court case number or further evidence. They told me they would charge me a 28% service fee + a 15% fee for the legal costs. I was never told about additional legal costs and never agreed with those extra 15%. On April 13th, 2026, I formally requested the missing information and gave them 7 days to respond, warning that I would escalate the matter. I received no answer. I contacted CEDR directly. In May 2026, CEDR confirmed that Click2Refund had reached a settlement with the airline in April 2025 and that the compensation paid was £603.60. This means Click2Refund had received my compensation more than a year earlier but had not informed me. I contacted a lawyer and considered taking the matter to Ottawa Small Claims Court. Following legal advice, I made my experience public again in July 2026 on Trustpilot, Google Reviews, and Facebook (where my posts were quickly deleted). Within one day, Click2Refund contacted me and offered to waive their additional 15% “legal fee” if I removed my reviews. I accepted only after they confirmed in writing that they would deduct only the agreed 28% service fee. On July 14th, 2026, Click2Refund transferred me €485.75 (£413.93 using the ECB exchange rate of €1 = £0.85215). This was not the amount I expected after a 28% deduction, meaning the final deduction was actually 31.42%. I originally hired Click2Refund to avoid dealing with the airline claim myself. Instead, I ended up spending years dealing with Click2Refund, chasing information, contacting CEDR, considering legal action, and fighting to receive money that had already been paid to them. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend avoiding their service.
