Greyhound Bus

Never again

Never again! Never ever again! Greyhound bus lines, you are the road version of Spirit Airlines and look where they ended up. Horrid customer service! I left yesterday from Effingham IL to Knoxville where I had a connection in St. Louis to Ohio for leaving at 2am ( I arrived at 11p). Got a notification on my phone that the connection is delayed until 345p Friday evening and we had to call customer service for connections or reschedule. The agents couldn't do any vouchers or refunds at their counter. After getting through to an agent, she rebooked me from St. Louis to Memphis then to Knoxville arriving at 10p and leaving at 9a. So I had to stay the night in the terminal and half slept because it's an atrocious terminal along with not so desirable people floating through. I waited the next day for a boarding announcement near the terminal and the agent did not make a boarding announcement! She only made a final announcement at 8:55am. I had to ask her where are they boarding and had to get to the B gate which I made it cause it's not a big terminal. The fat, sloppy bus driver was on the bus doing a count while I was at the door knocking for him to let me in. He didn't look my way, he sat down and looked at his phone and shook his pig shaped head no! Bus did not leave until 9:05. I made it there at 8:57. Went back to tell the ticket agent about this, she said that when they close the door, they can't open it back. But why close the door before 9 and why they don't do a final check for passengers like Amtrak does? But she had her hands full as she was dealing with enraged customers and security with customers almost coming to blows with each other. And good luck with getting an agent over the phone that you can understand to try to get a refund. If I wanted to catch another bus, I would've had to stay at the terminal again for another night! I had to cancel my trip to meet my friends for a get together and take a Lyft home from St. Louis to Illinois. When I got home and after several calls, I got an agent who was very understanding and offered me a voucher for my remaining part of my unused ticket. But I'm pretty sure I will not be using Greyhound again, so it's a voucher wasted! And I knew better! Haven't used Greyhound in many years and I was reminded why! And it's bad when one of the ticket agents tell you that Greyhound is her absolute last travel choice. She's rather walk. Company is pure and utter trash and disappointment.
