Extremely Disappointing Experience: Hidden Fees and Poor Customer Support
I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with CSSBuy has been incredibly frustrating. I feel compelled to warn others about the lack of transparency regarding fees and the consistently unhelpful nature of their support team. 1. Hidden Costs and Fee Structure Their fee structure is intentionally opaque. They use a proprietary exchange rate for CNY conversions that is significantly worse than the market rate—effectively a hidden surcharge—on top of their standard service fees. When I attempted to save costs by placing a "self-order," I encountered a major issue with insurance. Despite my package (item + shipping) totaling $806, their system limited my insurance coverage to only $162. They effectively valued my $762 item at $0 simply because I did not use their purchasing service. Support offered zero assistance or justification for this discrepancy. 2. Inconsistent and Non-Responsive Customer Service My communication with their team has been exhausting. It is clear that agents do not read tickets thoroughly, often responding to only one part of a message while ignoring the core concerns. Failure to follow instructions: I explicitly requested that my package dimensions stay within 24 × 24 × 10 cm to avoid higher shipping brackets. Despite the item’s retail box being only 17 × 17 × 6 cm, they initially claimed my request was "impossible." After escalating through Discord, they promised to accommodate me but ultimately shipped a package measuring 25 × 23 × 13 cm. They ignored the dimensions I specified entirely. Lack of transparency on shipping/customs: I sent several detailed inquiries regarding shipping a high-value ($760) phone to the EU, specifically asking about customs risks and tariff implications. These questions were completely ignored. I have spent over $150 in unnecessary fees and lost five full days of effort, only to be met with dismissive or non-existent support. I expected clear communication and professional service; instead, I was forced to repeat myself constantly with no resolution. If you are looking for a reliable agent, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
