False Advertising. Product photo misleading and my shades are too narrow.
I purchased the 'Casual Room Darkening Roller Shades' because the main product page explicitly advertised them as 'ideal for media rooms to reduce glare'. Furthermore, the primary marketing photo on the website shows the shade sitting flush against the window molding, with no visible light gaps. Now that they are installed inside-mount on my living room window wall, the mechanical side gaps are severe. The massive amount of light bleed makes it completely impossible to watch TV due to heavy screen glare, and they look terrible. I recently reviewed SelectBlinds' official corporate Reddit account, where your team publicly posted advice on choosing window treatments. In that post, your own team explicitly states: 'Media rooms: Roller shades with side channels or motorization.' Your product page suggested that the standard casual roller shade was enough for a media room with glare, but it overlooked the brand guidelines that specify the need for 'side channels' to make roller shades appropriate for TVs. Additionally, the shade/headrail width difference varies by window. I would like a resolution to this matter, either a refund or an exchange for a product that will meet the needs of the room, given the false, misleading advertising. Lastly, customer service has been a nightmare to work with. They take days to respond, are not helpful, and the language barrier makes it very difficult to communicate, as they are clearly outsourcing their customer service team overseas.
