I have been a runner for over 15 years and was excited to try Adidas carbon-plated shoes. Unfortunately, a simple return turned into a very painful experience. I mistakenly dropped off my return package at FedEx without the return label attached. While trying to get help, I couldn’t reach a live FedEx representative. After contacting FedEx through social media, someone impersonating FedEx contacted me, convinced me to download the LemFi app, and I became a victim of fraud with over $1,500 in unauthorized transactions. I take responsibility for my mistake, but I never imagined it would lead to this. Sharing this experience as a reminder: always verify who you are speaking with and never download apps or share information unless you are 100% sure it’s legitimate.
