Jeana Cason Made a Stressful Process Manageable
Applying for a reverse mortgage can be very stressful. For years, reverse mortgages had a bad reputation and were often associated with seniors losing their homes, so I was very anxious about even starting the process. I received a Finance of America advertisement in the mail, called the number, and was connected with Jeana Cason. From the beginning, she patiently walked me through every step. She helped me manage the fear and anxiety that came with making such a big decision and became what I affectionately thought of as my “loan therapist.” Jeana told me what to expect at every stage, encouraged me to take notes, and helped me think through the questions I might have. Everything happened exactly as she said it would, right down to the appraisal and the appointment with the notary. Knowing what was coming next made the process feel much less overwhelming and helped me trust that I was making the right decision. My experience also gave me a great deal of confidence in Finance of America and its HECM program. The process was transparent, well organized, and designed to help me understand exactly what I was agreeing to. Jeana did far more than guide me through a reverse mortgage. She helped me overcome the fear and anxiety that might otherwise have prevented me from moving forward. With patience, compassion, and extraordinary attention to detail, she prepared me for every step of the process, and everything happened exactly as she said it would. Because of Jeana, my husband and I can remain in the home where we raised our family, and Lulu, our 11-year old dog, can remain in the home and yard she loves. I am deeply grateful for Jeana’s patience, kindness, honesty, and professionalism. She made a major life transition feel manageable and made a meaningful difference in our lives. Somewhere along the way, I also came to feel that I had made a new friend, which made this experience even more special.
