Five Lakes Law Group

I signed up with Five Lakes Law Group and my Credit was destoyed

I signed up with Five Lakes Law Group to negotiate debt with credit cards. When I signed up I was told without a doubt that my credit score could be affected 30-90 days but after that it would bounce back up. I agreed to pay my fees of 176.00 per month to cover the cost of the negotiations. Unfortunately it was the biggest mistake of my life. My credit score dropped substantially and I now have 15 late payments on my credit report which affects 98% of my credit score. It has destroyed my credit and I am unable to apply for personal loans or credit cards because companies look at this and feel that I am too much of a risk so they turn me down. I have reached out to Five Lakes for help and their only response is that it’s up to the creditors and credit bureaus., I am a retired school teacher and living on a fixed income. I have been told by the bureaus that this will stay on my report for 7 years. I am devastated with the dishonesty of the law firm not being forthright and honest in their information. 7 years is a huge diffference from 30-60 days. I am now paying more monthly fees to another law firm to assist in having these late payments erased. The biggest blockage is because some of the payments were over 120 days late. I put my faith in them and assumed I would receive honest information as well as integrity from attorneys who have taken an oath! My advice is to not take any chances with them because of what has happened to me and there is no assistance In trying to help me. Was it worth some of the credit card debt being reduced? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Is there any solutions??
